Freedom Reigns is part boy-horse-whisperer tale, part Autism Spectrum Disorder study, and part solution search for America’s failing wild mustang roundup program. Cipi, a young, on-the-spectrum ranch hand, forgoes a scholarship, opting to use his exceptional abilities to heal rescued horses. As he “gentles'' Liberty - a free roaming mustang corralled when pregnant by Bureau of Land Management helicopters, and Blaze – Liberty’s foal born in a BLM holding pen prison, the story expands to reveal a majestic 3,800-acre ranch where 540 once wild horses run free again in their forever-home.

Other films address America’s wild mustang fiasco with footage of horrific roundups, inhumane holding pens and outraged interviewees. Freedom Reigns chooses a softer lens. Observing Cipi, his family, and the sanctuary's amazing founder Alicia, we see how individual passion and sacrifice can model a positive way forward through the challenging wild mustang issues. Temple Grandin, a mentor to Cipi, visits the ranch and provides insights into ASD and the value of "different thinkers". Other interviews include Cipi’s parents, Carrie and Lole, and Scott Wilson an AWHC board member and SONY World Photography first place winner.
